'Tunesmithing' to Spotlight Five Songwriting Acts in Nashville on Jan. 20

         NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 2018) -- Five professional songwriting acts will perform on Jan. 20 (Saturday) at "Tunesmithing," a monthly songwriters show at WXYZ Restaurant/Bar at the Aloft Nashville West End Hotel, 1719 West End Ave. 

          Attendees will enjoy original songs and instrumentals by Lisa Aschmann, East Side Story, Suzahn Fiering, Les Kerr, and Paul Nielsen. Admission is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Nashville composer/educator/publicist Chuck Whiting will emcee the show. Songwriter/audio engineer AJ Bigler will handle sound. 

          "It's a great opportunity to hear and support some of Nashville's most talented songwriters in a listening environment," said Whiting, a composer and publicist who serves as a professor of Mass Communications at Motlow State Community College. "We are open to all genres of music, including Americana, country, pop, jazz, Christian and classical."

'Tunesmithing' to Celebrate Americana Music in Nashville on Sept. 16

         NASHVILLE -- "Tunesmithing" will celebrate Americana Music Week with a songwriter spotlight from 7-10 p.m. Sept. 16 (Wednesday) at WXYZ Restaurant/Bar at the Aloft Nashville Hotel, 1719 West End Ave. (near Music Row). 

           Attendees will enjoy original songs by pop/rock/Americana artist Chakra Bleu ("All of Me"/Number one on NMW Top 40 Indie Chart); country/Americana artist Scott Coner ("Maybe She Lied"/Tanya Tucker duet); folk/Americana artist Mary Beth Cross ("Beyond Good and Evil"/2014 Country-Folk CD of the Year); the alternative/folk/rock band Dark Waters Project ("The Rains" CD); pop/Americana trio East Side Story ("I'll Be Waiting Here"/CD); and Celtic/folk/Americana artist David Llewellyn (Grand Prize Winner/John Lennon Songwriting Competition).

          The monthly "Tunesmithing" songwriters showcase will spotlight five professional songwriting acts from 7:30-10 p.m. May 20 (Tuesday) at WXYZ Restaurant/Bar at Aloft Nashville West End Hotel, 1719 West End Ave. (at West End and 18th). 

          Taking the stage for the "Professional Songwriters Segment" at 7:30 p.m. will be Everette Brown (songs recorded by The Blackwood Brothers), East Side Story (a café-Bohemian band from East Nashville), Linda McRae ("Rough Edges and Ragged Hearts"/nominated for Album of the Year at 2013 Canadian Folk Music Awards), Angel Pontier (songs recorded by artists at Word, Horizon and New Haven Records), and Drobac & Shaw (country-pop songwriting trio).
